    Secession From the LAUSD

Should the State allow secession from the LAUSD? The Valley wants to break away from the L.A. Unified School District to form its own school districts which it believes would be more responsive to the needs of its students. The enormous and powerful LAUSD doesn't like the idea. But a bellwether case goes before the State Board of Education this Thursday that could decide the fate of secession. Today on Which Way, L.A.?, tiny Lomita gets its 15 minutes to present a secession case that could tip the scales in favor of the Valley.
