Showdown over DWP Pay and Benefits

Last Friday, the LA City Council held a four-hour hearing on a proposed contract between the Department of Water and Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. When it was over, most council members said they'd support it. But Mayor Eric Garcetti — opposed by the IBEW during his recent election campaign -- said he would refuse to sign.
