The next vote won't be until November, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is already back on the campaign trail. So is the winner of yesterday's Democratic primary, Phil Angelides. At noon, he was making his first effort to rally the party after the vitriolic campaign between him and State Controller Steve Westly. Yesterday's turnout raises a very important question. Will the lowest turnout in history help Democrats or Republicans? Do Californians care enough to go to the polls? On Monday at Venice High School, 17-year old Augustin Contreras was shot to death, reportedly after trying to protect his brother from a gang-related robbery and assault. It appears Augustin was not a gang member. City Councilman Bill Rosendhal has called for a reward to help find his killer.
