The New Chief: What's Going to Change at the LAPD

Last night at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, the police chief designate of Los Angeles, Willie Williams gave his first major public address before the annual dinner meeting of the American Jewish Committee. We hear that speech in its entirety. We then speak with George Hofstetter, a 25-year veteran of the LAPD. He's gong to retire on June 27, the same day that Chief Darryl Gates is expected to step down. We also speak with Joseph Wambaugh, one of America’s best known and most successful novelists, and a man who has gained worldwide fame for writing books about the LAPD, where he served for fourteen years.
