The state got $50 billion from the President's 2009 stimulus bill, much of which went to bolster government programs and keep school teachers on the job. Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz, of Utah recently said, "The message is 'States, don't think the federal government is going to bail you out. Pay attention to this now.'"
