Which Way, L.A.?

Understanding Islam

Due to the September 11 attacks, Muslim-Americans are reaching out in a coordinated effort to educate the American public about their religion. Tonight, we attempt to shed light on the fundamentals of Islam and what it means to be a "good Muslim." We investigate if the Koran promises martyrdom for suicide bombings and its stance on women's rights. Also, we explore whether the Taliban is governing Afghanistan according to Islamic law. An Islam expert and an Iranian revolution survivor join us to discuss the complicated perceptions of Islam. Newsmaker: Ban on Private Vehicles at LAX Stays Put - Three weeks to the day after the hijackings that shocked the world, the skycaps are back at LA's International Airport. However, it will take time before private vehicles are allowed back on the horse-shoe shaped inner road that services all nine passenger terminals.
