Violence in the Middle East

Peace talks in Paris are on-again, off-again, on-again, as violence continues in the Middle East. There was more deadly gunfire today in the Gaza strip as Yasser Arafat and Ehud Barak agreed to meet with Madeline Albright in Paris after all. Has this week's trouble endangered a permanent settlement-or is violence an integral part of the peace process? Newsmaker: Scott Glover is a reporter for the Los Angeles Times who has been writing about the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart scandal.
