What's Going on at The Getty

In Rome yesterday, Marion True went on trial, charged with illegally trading in stolen artifacts while she was antiquities curator at LA's Getty Museum. True retired from the Getty earlier this year. When the allegedly illegal purchases occurred, John Walsh was Director of the Getty Museum, and True reported to him. Walsh, who retired from the Getty in 2000, says True's not guilty of the charges against her. Still, he admits the risk of buying stolen artifacts is a condition of doing business and says the Getty will have to return more objects to their countries of origin. What about Getty President Barry Munitz? Can the Getty restore its damaged reputation? We speak with Getty Museum Director John Walsh.
