The California Lottery invested big money to promote Powerball on radio and TV. "California Dreamin'" is the background music over pictures of people looking delighted as little white lottery balls drift from above, ending up with a red ball drifting into the hand of the winner of Powerball and the words "Believe in Something Bigger." Nobody asks "bigger than what…" but the California Lottery figures viewers will figure that out for themselves.
