We may have a new division fracturing American society - the -wired' and the -unwired.' According to a recent survey, the -wired' individuals - those who use cell phones, beepers, e-mail, laptop computers - are more likely to be optimistic and happy than the unconnected. Why would this be true? What are the implications for society today? And what about tomorrow?
