Homework That's a Waste of Time
As part of a shift in the way California funds public schools, the state is adding a new layer of bureaucracy to an already confounding educational system.

They're being asked to help develop something called Local Control and Accountability Plans. The idea is to get community input in setting goals for local schools, but Matthews tells KCRW's Chery Glaser that the process is not working the way it was intended.
