What does your neighborhood do for you?

Californians hunger for neighborhoods is laid out in a new poll conducted for Zocalo Public Square by the Field research Corporation and the California Wellness Foundation. Zocalo columnist Joe Mathews says the results are striking and, in some ways, not too surprising. State residents, especially Southern Californians, want to connect with their world via the communities they live. And while most of us like our neighborhoods, satisfaction is highest among the state’s wealthiest residents. Health, safety and economic issues top the list of concerns for those who find their neighborhoods lacking.
