When I saw actress Kristen Bellin thevideo for YeasayerMadder Red’s track “,” I knew I had to get her on KCRW’s Guest DJ Project. Most of her picks are dedicated to her first brushes with romance – including the song she used to woo her high school sweetheart …. and then the track that left her heartbroken.

The Detroit-born actress also shares a serious love for Motown (she even sings us a few bars!) and the empowering music of Fiona Apple.

“Fiona Apple is just so weird and wonderful and you know, dark and goofy and not—she doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. And I was in that kind of mood I think at points in high school and “Sleep to Dream” was me, cranking it up in my car, screaming it at the top of my lungs.”

Check out her set!

Bell is known for her starring role in the TV series Veronica Mars and as the title character in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. She can be seen in the upcoming movie Burlesque and has joined the cast of Scream 4, out next year.

See her full tracklist below.

Kristen Bell Guest DJ Project Set List

2.) Make a Move on Me – Olivia Newton John

3.) Chances Are – Johnny Mathis

4.) Sleep to Dream – Fiona Apple

5.) What is Love – Jackie Tohn
