Groovy. That is the best word to describe today’s performance from UK producer Shawn Lee and LA singer/songwriter AM. It’s an unlikely pairing that totally works and it was really sweet to watch AM comment in the moment about how excited he was to be performing with a rhythm section of Lee, an incredible bass player, and drummer Pete McNeal. Brett Bixby added quite a bit with his keys as well. It was a bit of a lovefest, in the best possible way.

AM & Shawn Lee’s debut “Celestrial Electic” came out yesterday on ESL and the band is in town opening for Thievery Corporation tomorrow night at the Greek Theatre.
