It is immensely clear to anyone who reads this blog that I am a music junkie but my pop culture fascination doesn’t stray far from that field with one big exception — I LOVE the Big Bang Theory. For those who don’t know, it’s a sitcom on CBS that is as witty as Adele’s voice is pretty.

I may not understand all the geek culture references about gaming, Star Trek and such, but the relationship between the core characters seems far more genuine and close to my life than “Friends” ever did.

So, in celebration of star Jim Parsons’ Golden Globe win over the weekend — he plays the neurotic physicist Sheldon and, in a perfectly written script, never has a line that doesn’t make me laugh — I wanted to point folks to his Guest DJ Project set.

I had never seen the show when he came by the studio last year, but was so impressed with him as a human being that I watched it the very next night and fell head over heels.

His Guest DJ set was honest, emotional and really told you something about him as a person, which is what I always hope for. And, he has the great distinction of being the first person to pick a song by Madonna.

Keep an eye out for an upcoming Guest DJ Project set with Kunal Nayyar aka Raj in Spring!

p.s: Barenaked Ladies did the theme song for the show and I find myself singing it every time I watch an episode…
