    Birdy is a teen phenomenon from the UK who first captured our ears with her cover of Phoenix’s “1901”.

    There was a reaction the moment DJ Chris Douridas first played it on air, which we actually got to appreciate in person because we happened to be broadcasting live from Amoeba Music that day and people were walking right up to the DJ booth to find out about songs they like.

    Her take on Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love” is another standout on her debut,which is actually all covers except the track “Without a Word”. That may seem a bit odd … until you realize she is just 15 years old.
