I learned a lot about the connection between food and music during this Guest DJ Project session. Chef and Food Network personality Aida Mollenkamp provides some insight on which style of music matches certain types of cooking — particularly how Bossa Nova encourages “cooking from the hip” and pastry work is “definitely jazz influenced.” Aida also talks about the music she uses as a release from hours spent in the kitchen. Aida is hosting a new show called “Foodcrafters” which recently debuted on the Cooking Channel and you can check out her song picks here.
