Lovely is a perfect way to describe the music of Citizen Cope (aka Clarence Greenwood).

He may not be the most expressive frontman, but he has this magical ability to completely capture my attention with his soulful singing. And just watching him play chills me out. He is the master of mellow yet meaningful music.

Apparently he arrived at the studio yesterday with a massive toothache, but still put on a fantastic performance.

If you don’t have plans for tonight, head out to the Wiltern to see him, with Alice Smith opening. If you don’t know Alice, she is INCREDIBLE.

Check out Citizen Cope’s full session here, including a bonus track recorded after the on air broadcast.
