Codeine Velvet Club is a band name you heard throughout the SXSW music festival. It is the vintage-inspired side project of Jon Lawler (of The Fratellis) and singer Lou Hickey. Their music will surely satisfy fans of The Fratellis, who released one of the catchiest albums of 2006, their debut Costello Music. Codeine Velvet Club’s catchy melodies, combined with the duo’s shared passion for 60’s duets, makes for some lovely orchestral pop. Check out a preview as Today’s Top Tune. The band from Glasgow gives us “Hollywood.”
