    Courage in Journalism Awards

This Thursday, the International Women's Media Foundation will present "Courage in Journalism Awards" to three reporters who, as women, face special dangers in pursuing their trade in their native countries. Please join us as we ask two of the three to tell us their stories. Host Carole Hemingway (a former radio talk show host in Los Angeles and now a media consultant) speaks with Bina Bektiati (a freelance journalist in Jakarta, Indonesia, and a founding member of the Alliance of Independent Journalists) and Corinne Dufka (chief photographer for Reuters in East Africa, previously based in the former Yugoslavia and El Salvador). The second annual International Women's Media Foundation Los Angeles "Courage in Journalism Awards" will take place Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Sheraton Miramar in Santa Monica. For ticket information, contact (310) 559-9334.
