This story by our friends at the Downtown News today jumped out at me, and not just cause of its catchy title or because I live downtown; it’s about a dance performance in an unlikely place, the long-unused top floor of the Paul Hastings office building in downtown Los Angeles. “Cleopatra, CEO” opens this week from the

Heidi Duckler dance troupe. According to the article:

“”The show’s title is a reference to how Cleopatra was a strategic and ambitious executive of her time,” said Duckler….In the site-specific work, the audience follows the performers from room to room. During the process, the ensemble seamlessly dances through the life of Cleopatra, moving from war to death to mourning. It culminates in celebration.”
