By Rachel Reynolds • • 1 min readWhen Kisses’ Jesse Kivel (who you might recognize from another LA band, Princeton) sent me a link to the band’s new single on Soundcloud, the first thing I noticed was that it was co-produced by Saint Etienne’s Pete Wiggs. And you can hear his influence in the first 15 seconds!
It’s a shimmery, romantic pop number set to a catchy dance beat – which is pretty much what defines Saint Etienne’s music for me (that and Sarah Cracknell’s voice).

Kisses is a project from Kivel and his girlfriend Zinzi Edmundson. They released their debut “Heart of the Nightlife” in 2010, but it’s been almost a year since they’ve played any local shows. They’re gearing up for some Fall dates so keep an eye out.
