LA City Council President Eric Garcetti to be a part of KCRW’s Guest DJ Project. Truthfully, he made me love the city I call home even more than I already do, so the pleasure was all ours.

It’s safe to say we were surprised by his diverse picks and moving stories – happily so.

His set is consistent in that it’s a love letter to LA, but he travels through the synth pop of Yellow Magic Orchestra, 80’s goth rock of Siouxsie and the Banshees and more to get there.

I truly love Los Angeles. I’ll defend it to anyone and I find new ways to appreciate it everyday.

If you love LA, listen to this set. It’ll warm your heart. If you don’t love LA, listen anyway and maybe you’ll understand why we do.
