Chuck P is the newest addition to the KCRW lineup and on tonight’s show – from midnight to 3am (technically Wednesday morning) – he’ll have a special treat for fans of Califone.

Founding member Tim Rutili recorded some solo acoustic versions of the band’s songs exclusively for KCRW. Originally from Chicago, Tim settled in LA years ago to work as a soundtrack composer. In fact, he directed his first feature length film “All My Friends Are Funeral Singers” in tandem with the creation of Califone’s 2009 album of the same title. The film screened at Sundance earlier this year.

Also – a fun fact – Tim contributed vocals to title track of The Fruit Bats’ “The Ruminant Band!”

Chuck is also promising “new stuff, reissued stuff, covered stuff… the best stuff on earth” so tune in live or check it out in the archives.
