Expo Line arrives: Taking the train with Zev Yaroslovsky
On Friday I joined a scrum of journalists and local politicos and rode the new Expo Line connecting downtown Los Angeles with Culver City. When it opens to the public…
While aboard the train, I talked to Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky about whether Angelinos are finally starting to embrace rail and subway mass transit and how that’s changing the relationship between the city
and its citizens. Toward the end of our conversation, L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa shows us what’s in his wallet related to mass transit.
“It’ s a myth that Angelinos won’t get out of their cars, Angelinos will get out of their cars if we give them a better mouse trap,” said Sup. Yaroslavsky. He also reflected on how connecting communities is good for the city.
