(Joy Williams is set to release her first solo album since the break up of The Civil Wars. She’ll be playing the El Rey on May 19 and wanted to share her love for LA’s Kan Wakan as part of our FANDOM series!)

“I have been listening to Kan Wakan’s debut album, “Moving On“, for almost a year now, since it released last June.

Gueorgui’s genius orchestration, arrangement and aesthetic, Kristianne’s gorgeous vocals and Darrell Thorpe’s engineering expertise make for a magical, cohesive and dynamic listening experience from front to back.

I am also thrilled to say that Kan Wakan will be opening my first three shows, debuting my new album, “VENUS“, in London, New York & Los Angeles next month.

Check out their title track “Moving On” which feels like a cross between Radiohead and Adele to me… what’s not to like about that?”
