Readers of this blog will notice I’ve been on a Patti Smith kick lately. After reading “Just Kids“, which is currently my favorite book I’ve ever read, I finally understood why she has influenced so many people. Among them, Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit. Jason played their excellent track “Hard Believer” this morning and reminded me of a video I saw on You Tube of them covering “Dancing Barefoot“.

It’s short but powerful. It was in Stockholm, Sweden where Patti Smith was being honored with the Polar Music Prize and the legend herself seemed to get a little choked up during their performance and followed it with rapturous applaud. It most be really special to see other talented musicians give your work new life. Enjoy!
