First Aid Kit Covers Heart’s ‘Crazy On You’

Whenever bands come to perform on MBE, I ask them to do something special. Over the years, we’ve hosted so many amazing moments — incredible premieres, special guests, unexpected covers — that I try to plant a seed just in case.

Well, I did this with First Aid Kit and BOY did they deliver. Not only did they perform their protest song “You Are the Problem Here” (which is not on their new record, but is timely as ever), they also played a cover of Heart’s “Crazy on You” — for the first time ever (watch below).

Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg told MBE host Jason Bentley that Heart was a recent discovery for them and vocalized how nervous they were about covering the classic.

But can you think of a more perfect sister act to take it on? Needless to say, it was fantastic.

They also talked to Jason about their separate roles in song creation, with Johanna editing Klara’s flow of ideas (or as Jason joked, “mining songs from Klara’s grief” — this is a break up album after all).

Also, Klara happened to mention she’s been taking acting lessons and let Hollywood know she is ready to shine. Are you listening LA?

It was a fantastic set, highly worth revisiting.
