First Aid Kit brought a handful of songs and some gorgeous melodies into the station this morning. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is just something special when siblings harmonize with each other.

Their upcoming full length “The Lion’s Roar” isn’t out until January but they gave us a sneak peak of some of the songs on the album, including the excellent title track and the song “Emmylou”. I’ve read that “Emmylou” is a tribute to Emmylou Harris.. They’ve been singing it while on tour with Bright Eyes (often with Mike Mogis joining in) but this was the radio premiere! They also played “Hard Believer”, my personal favorite.

Find the full set in the archives here.
