Last April, KCRW hosted a very special evening of music with Glen Hansard (Swell Season) and Sam Beam (Iron & Wine). They took turns playing their stunning original material before uniting for two covers they worked on during soundcheck.
We’ve never released any of the audio from that night and it never aired on the station.
But, in honor of them sharing a stage at the Hollywood Bowl this Sunday as part of KCRW’s World Festival, I thought it was time to share this treat.
Enjoy the incredibly talented pair of singer-songwriters singing the iconic track “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”, made famous by Willie Nelson on his 1975 “Red Headed Stranger” album.
