Groove of the Week – “We No Speak Americano”

What’s that groovy, swingin’, electro banger Jason has been spinning on Morning Becomes Eclectic this week? It’s Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool’s “We No Speak Americano.” Jason said it was a grassroots effort that brought the song to his attention – literally people kept requesting it at shows over the summer and eventually he tracked it down. The infectious energy of the track – which samples the 1956 song “Tu vuò fà l’americano” by Renato Carosone – had already made it a huge hit in Europe and Australia.
