LA’s own Grouplove made their live radio debut this morning, playing songs off their fantastic self-titled EP, as well as brand new ones that will be on their full length release. New tracks like “Tongue Tied” and “Love Will Save Your Soul” fit in seamlessly with songs we already love like “Don’t Say Oh Well” and “Naked Kids,” the former of which could easily be the anthem for summer 2011 (which is when their full length will be released.)

We were all very impressed by their live performance – they are a tight unit and genuinely seem to love each other. Their pop harmonies and catchy choruses are accented by just enough edge, mostly provided by Christian Zucconi’s screaming vocals. They seemed almost punk at times, a perfect foil to Hannah Hooper’s sweetness.

They did a Monday residency at the Bootleg in January, and return to the Troubadour for a show in late March, with a stop at SXSW in the middle. I plan on seeing them again. Their positive energy is infectious!
