Miguel is a rising star and an LA native who covers those topics thoroughly in his seductive brand of R&B.

He doesn’t hold back in exploring intimacy in his own music and he chose a handful of his favorites songs about falling in love — and falling in lust — for a special Valentine’s Day guest DJ set we’re calling the Wildheart Radio Hour.

The singer, who is nominated for two Grammys (Best Urban Contemporary Album for “Wildheart” and Best R&B Song for “Coffee”), got behind the mic to share stories behind the songs that inspired HIM to write songs about love. From classics live Steve Wonder’s “As” to the ultimate love song, “Always and Forever”, to contemporaries like D’Angelo and Common.

It’s a Miguel mixtape hand-selected for the KCRW audience with great stories to go along with it. Hear about a young Miguel pining for a schoolmate and find out his philosophy on the holiday as a whole.

Get ready for the weekend with this as your soundtrack.

Set List:

No Letting Go — Wayne Wonder

Find a Way — Tribe Called Quest

As — Stevie Wonder

Feel Like Makin Love — D’Angelo

The Light — Common

Me and Mrs Jones — Billy Paul

For All We Know — Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack

Coffee — Miguel

Always and Forever — Heatwave
