TRON: Legacy Director Joseph Kosinski shared a handful of new Daft Punk songs with KCRW Music Director (and TRON Music Supervisor) Jason Bentley and you can hear them HERE!

Aside from debuting the score cues, Kosinski tells us the story behind each one in an exclusive interview. I was lucky enough to be in the room during the soundtrack preview event and even though I’ve never seen the original film – and I’m not a Daft Punk die hard – I was absolutely fascinated by the process.

The mysterious robot duo of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter submitted songs before the film had even begun shooting and their music very much influenced the film itself. As Kosinski says, they fed off each other creatively throughout the two-year process and, for composers who had never scored a movie before, the level of collaboration and openness was “pretty astounding.”

This is definitely worth a listen!

The tracks they debuted — “Solar Sailer,” “Recognizer,” “Adagio for TRON,” “Disc Wars,” and “TRON Legacy End Titles.” The soundtrack is on sale December 7.
