k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang played a sold out show at the Troubadour last night (with local favorites Belle Brigade opening) to launch the singer’s new album “Sing It Loud.” Fans of the vintage country sound she explored in her earlier years will be very pleased with the new album. She kicks up a sensual, country-tinged fervor with the album opener “I Confess” and the slinkier “Sugar Buzz.” She also has the soul-searing ballads that really spotlight her gorgeous voice.

k.d. will be playing the Stagecoach Festival on the May 1 and the band will be touring around the States starting in June.
