KCRW Premiere: Oil Boom – “Röckenröül” Video

I met Oil Boom in one of those happy SXSW accidents – I hear music I like, I wander into a bar on 6th Street and boom!

It’s gritty, bluesy, tight, and fun. They pay homage to the cassette, and in the spirit of this video, it’s Roukenroul (with umlauts)!!

They don’t take themselves too seriously – one of my favorite traits in a band.

Fun fact: album producer Jordan Richardson was once a part of LA band Oliver Future, who performed on MBE in 2007, and later returned to our studio with Ben Harper.
