By Rachel Reynolds • • 1 min readYACHT won us over here at KCRW slowly but surely. “Psychic City” became one of those songs that DJs played across the board, but it was their appearance at KCRW’s World Festival at the Hollywood Bowl that sealed the deal. They were simply incredible and had enough energy to reach the bleacher seats. That was when we knew they had the stuff.
They have a new album called “Shangri-La” coming out on DFA records later this month and I’m really excited about their new single “Utopia”. They describe it as “ a frantic piece of arty disco funk” which works for me!
As they say, “there’s nothing in the future / it’s up to us to make utopia.”
