The Venezuelan outfit that brought you anthems like, “Sexy,” “Ultra-Funk,” and “Cuchi-Cuchi,” are back!

Well… they never really went away. Over the past 20 years, they’ve had tours, GRAMMY nominations, and albums with plenty of success and longevity.

However, their latest single and video, released in December of 2016, is a return to basics for the Venezuelan, Afro-funk, groove masters.

“Dame el Mambo,” employs the signature, sexy, sounds they established in the late 90’s, while signed to David Byrne’s record label, Luaka Bop.

The beat snakes about with a spell like bass line and sucks you in so deep you almost don’t realize the lyrics are peppered with sexual innuendos and double entendres. It’s so enchanting that you also almost miss the quick Right Said Fred drum sample leading into each chorus.

“Groovy Baby, groovy!”

Los Amigos, stay true to their unique funk and are not, Too Sexy, for themselves. See what I did there?
