So basically, Making Time is a Philly institution.

If you look at my bio, I totally name check it because it’s been foundational for me.

A girl that I had a huge crush on that worked at my favorite record shop invited me to a Making Time party. I went thinking I’d get with her, but ended up instead falling in love with the party.

It was pre-blog culture, pre-hipsters, pre-Instagram 2000-2001.

I used to go dance my head off every month to Dave P’s indie + Britpop sets and got to see bands like The Strokes, Trans Am and Adult waaaaaaayyy before they were bands anyone cared about.

It was my HOME.

And when I came to LA, I looked for it but never quite found it. I found other super awesome things, but not Making Time.

Whenever I went back to Philly I’d go and I noticed that the sound evolved to a more electronic vibe, but the spirit was the same.

That’s because there’s only one Making Time. AND it’s gonna be in LA for one night before FYF! AND I’m spinning at it. Ridiculous.

Editor’s Note: Delorean were just announced as the secret guest and Mario will be spinning on the rooftop. The event is free with RSVP and you can find out more here.
