Moby is now a proud Angeleno and his 11th studio album “Innocents” is a reflection of that in many ways, including the fact that it was recorded in the artist’s home studio. It’s also the first time he worked with a bunch of collaborators, and he invited many of them into the Village Studio for his live MBE session, including Damien Jurado, Skylar Grey and Al Spz from Cold Specks.

Moby, wearing a Cramps tee and armed with a guitar, led an 11-piece band through a 7-song set of hits and new tracks. The new songs fit right in with the best in his catalogue, with all the familiar elements his fans expect and appreciate– most notably the incredible female vocalists, mournful beauty and gospel-style choruses that makes a track like “The Perfect Life” so moving. (Sadly his collaborator on that one, Wayne Coyne, wasn’t in attendance)

Moby knows how to put on an incredible live show and since he’s commented that he is pretty much done with touring, this might be the best way to see it!
