As a KCRW fan(atic) you already know that putting a great playlist together is a true art form. And there are so many ways to go about it! Do you gather up the latest and greatest? Do you stick with the classics? Are you looking for crowd pleasers that are guaranteed to fill the dance floor? Or do you keep it eclectic with a nice little mix of all of the above? The possibilities are endless.

Of course, you can also never go wrong with a good theme. As I was contemplating how to approach my mix this year, I thought about the most fun I’ve ever had dancing on New Year’s Eve and that was at Funky Sole. Now, I don’t have anywhere near the depth of soul/funk knowledge as those guys, but I decided to offer up some of my favorite jams of the genre to help us groove on into 2019!
