Oscar weekend is finally upon us!

The biggest story of the 2016 Academy Awards has been who was not nominated. For the second year in a row, all 20 acting nominees were white. “Oscars So White” led to backlash, boycotts, and ultimately changes in the structure of voting regulations of the Academy.

It also has been a notable year for the lack of a frontrunner. In a rare split, the three main guilds – the Directors Guild, the Producers Guild and the Screen Actors Guild – all awarded their top prize to different films. The directors went with The Revenant, the producers voted for The Big Short and SAG opted for Spotlight. But come Sunday night, we’ll finally know which one (if any of those) gets the Best Picture Oscar.
