With the end of the year right around the corner, and all our focus starting to turn to our best of the year, we couldn’t help but notice that we had yet to cross off one of our, “Most Anticipated Moments of 2017.”

When we premiered iLe’s video for ‘Canibal’ in April of 2016, we were immediately smitten with her vivid imagery and powerful voice. Her debut album got strong support from critics and she performed a lengthy tour behind it. However, it did not make it to the west coast; and we were left with anticipation for the moment she would finally perform in LA.

Thankfully we got a chance to see her in NYC at LAMC in various settings. But that yearning to see a full performance by iLe on her own stage stuck with us.

Well, this week she will finally make her solo west coast debut with support from Gaby Moreno at the Valley Performing Arts Center (Tickets) and we are beside ourselves to say the least.

To give you a preview of what an immense talent iLe is, we present this video, recorded on New York’s Highline by Raul Campos, Ariana Morgenstern, Brent Gordon and myself. Recorded July 2017.

After a brief conversation the night before, we casually asked her if she’d do an impromptu acoustic song for us. She agreed. Chose the location, and the rest is… well, as they say, “magia.”
