Interpol are back with one of their best albums yet and, even better, they seem to be having a REALLY good time playing it.

They were all smiles backstage last night after they debuted half of their new album — and some fan favorites –for a worldwide audience in a webcast presented by KCRW and NPR Music.

They ruled the Main Stage at LA’s FYF Fest over the weekend (the crowd was pretty much as far back as it could go!) and then switched gears to play this intimate show at Mack Sennett Studios for a rapturous audience.

They kicked off their set with “Say Hello to the Angels” from their debut “Turn on the Bright Lights”.

It’s crazy to think that album is over a decade old, but the new material is as fresh as ever, particularly the single “All the Rage Back Home”, which closed the show. It was a fitting full circle in a set that also included catalogue highlights like “Evil” and “C’Mere”.

“El Pintor” is streaming in full now at KCRW.com and is out on Matador Records on September 9. If you missed last night’s webcast, we’ll be broadcasting part of the performance on Morning Becomes Eclectic THIS Friday, August 29!

Set list below.
