There has been a Queen resurgence that I have really been enjoying.

I recently read an incredible article in Rolling Stone, surviving members of the band are touring for the first time in 30 years, and here in LA the Center Theatre Groupis presenting a musical based on their music (I hear the female lead has an extraordinary voice).

I grew up hearing “We Will Rock You” in football stadiums and “Bohemian Rhapsody” in Wayne’s World, but I’ve come to love some of their other songs much more.

The somewhat understated “You’re My Best Friend” is a sentimental favorite.

It was originally included on the “A Night at the Opera” album in 1975 and later a live version was turned up on 1979’s “Live Killers” release. And when Graffiti6 performed it acoustically in our studios, it was a special moment.

It was 2011, before the release of the UK band’s major label debut, which was chock full of upbeat, soulful electro-pop.

Singer Jamie Scott packs an emotional punch and he does Freddie Mercury proud on this one, letting the excellent lyrics by bassist John Deacon really sink in.
