Reflections on Conan O’Brien from Ted Leo

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists’ “Hearts of Oak” album didn’t leave my car for about six months when I discovered it in 2003. As a former band publicist, I know how important late night TV is to exposing bands to a new audience. And after having Conan on the Guest DJ Project, I know that he is a truly passionate music lover who’s happy he’s been able to use his post to boost up deserving bands (including his beloved White Stripes, who don’t really need much help anymore). He gave Ted Leo and the Pharmacists their first (and) only late night gig and Ted reflects on how much it meant to them on his blog. They played “Where Have All the Rude Boys Gone” and, if you have not heard that song, head immediately to this site and listen to it. It’s incredible punk-y power pop.
