Longtimestation favorite and multi-instrumental king Shawn Lee finally made his live debut at KCRW last week. He thanked Jason for being the first DJ to ever play his music on the radio and treated us to a really fun set of music.

Shawn Lee is a magical musical machine who flies through all styles but is still uniquely his own in everything he does. I’m particularly a fan of his covers album “Hits the Hits” where he takes on everything from “Hey Ya” (OutKast), “Rehab” (Amy Winehouse) and “Rock Your Body” (Justin Timberlake). He’s a masterful musical chef cooking up a bounty and he showcases his love for ’60’s and ’70s soul on his latest album, “Sing a Song“. Hear songs old and new from his live performance here.
