Brooklyn’s Shigetocreates glistening ambient electronic music punctuated with skittering hip-hop jazz drums.

Constantly shifting moods between the booming bass, organic claps, and digital clicks and whirs, Shigeto (nee Zach Saginaw) invites you into a musical landscape with a warmth and depth that feel remarkably personal.

With a couple of EPs and a full length under his belt, his latest release “Lineage” is rife with titles that refer to aspects of Saginaw’s upbringing and vision of self. “Lineage” is Shigeto’s Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
