Travis is self-releasing an “official bootleg” albumtitled “A Chronological Acoustical Journey Through The Travis Back Catalogue Live.” It was recorded in LA at Largo this past October. For the entire tour, Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop played small, intimate venues armed only with their guitars, a piano and a pretty incredible catalogue of songs. They’ve given us “As You Are” to offer up to KCRW listeners as a sample.:

Travis were the special surprise guests at KCRW’s benefit show A Sounds Eclectic Evening in 2007. I remember walking into the empty Gibson Amphitheater and hearing them soundchecking the song “My Eyes” and nearly bursting into tears. It was so beautiful and melodic and heartfelt. I’ve been a fan since hearing “Why Does it Always Rain on Me” and it was a really special moment. Their album is available now on Amazon.com and here’s a photo from that night, courtesy of Marc Goldstein.
