This Sunday, I get to host Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros as they (all 13 or so of them!) grace the stage at The Hollywood Bowl for KCRW’s World Festival.

Their new self-titled album was just released on July 23 from Community Music.

I’ve been a fan of this band since I first heard about them circa ’07 and still adore the pleasant family feeling they convey on stage, as well as on record.

Who can forget how huge “Home” was and I’d say, still is….just try not to sing it when you hear it!

This new album presents us with sunny positive vibes, while also maintaining the same mildly psychedelic undertones to perpetuate that Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros sound.

Don’t forget to get your hippie on with some tie-dyed picnic baskets filled with chia seeds and hummus!

Not to be missed, opening the show will be the classic cosmic sounds of The Sun Ra Arkestra as well as musical great from Zimbabwe, the legendary, Oliver Mtukudzi.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, we’re diggin’ this new album. See you at The Bowl!

Editor’s Note: Tickets and more info available here and check out the band performing “Life is Hard” on David Letterman.
